Can you believe in Iran, we have king bathroom which are designed like castles? Yes it is right. Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse is one real example in Kashan, Iran.
One it wan damaged by earthquake but after that in Qajar era in 18th century, it repaired and reopened with this new architect that you can see in my pictures and videos.
Was it just a public bathroom?
When you step inside, believe me, you won’t accept on first sight that what you see is just a bath! You may ask yourself why they built such a big place with this magnificent design just for taking shower?
The answer is, no it was not just a bathroom for taking shower. Public places such this one used to be a place to be gathered with others, interact with them, having fun, taking new haircut and more importantly talking about political and economical manner of the city or country. So it was a healthcare house and meeting place.

Design of Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse
This is a 1000 squire meters place with many rooms in rooms. In this bathhouse, you will see lots of painting, natural lighting, pool and fountains, columns and domes which are all design with Iranian and Islamic patterns. The bathhouse is located in city center same as all of the important places in Kashan.
Parts in Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse
Entrance which is one of the most important parts of a complex or house in Iranian design which separate the house from outside.
Dressing room called “Sarbineh” which has more details. It is an Octagon shape building with a small pool in the middle and chair around for seating and relaxing.
“Garmkhane” means warm place which has “Khazine” in itself which is the main bath pool.
Roof which is special in this pattern. First when you go on top of the roof, you can see whole city. No tall tower or eye blockers. You even can see mountains which are stranded the city! Also you will see some small domes which are designed by some glass pieces. These glasses act like a whole for entering sun light but preventing people to see inside. This way the privacy of inside the bathhouse will be kept intact. How fantastic is it?!
Best time for visiting Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse is spring and fall which has better weather condition in Kashan.
